Promise Day

“He is my Savior. He is my King. And I will follow Him forever.”

Every moment is a gift. But this moment…this moment is a treasure…it is a promise.

I’m forever grateful to have shared it…this very specific, definitive moment, with my Calla 3 years ago today. I think back to all the discussions about Jesus and about baptism and faith we had with our sweet girl in the 2 years leading up to this moment. I think of the excitement and the persistence that Calla approached this moment with. I think of the radiance, the joy, her confident confession of faith, the sound of her squeal, the way she jumped into my arms…this daddy’s heart clings to every piece of this moment, every corner. This is a vivid expression of God’s goodness and His grace to our family…He knew how much we would need it.

Because of this moment…I know I will get more.

In our temporary separation from our girl, we have a firm foundation of hope because of this moment…hope of reunion, hope of resurrection, hope of eternity together in the presence of our King. We are a mixture of deep sorrow and deep joy…because of our deep love. Forever grateful for this treasure…thank you Jesus for this promise day.

“And let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:25
