A Casa Calla Update!
What started as a way for people to give memorial gifts after our sweet Calla’s rescue to Heaven, has become a movement of people embracing Calla’s heart to look out for the left out. When we decided to keep Calla’s slime shop open, we didn’t know what would come...we just knew we wanted to honor our girl. So, we followed her slime recipes and kept following her lead.
This week is the anniversary of Calla launching Calla Lily Slime Shop in 2018. She started it with the sole mission to raise funds so she could go to Tinca, Romania to serve at-risk girls with her dad through Forget Me Not Ministries. And today, Team Woods is grateful to announce that through generous gifts, thousands and thousands of tees and hoodies and over 1,700 pounds of Calla’s specialty slime spread out all over the country and beyond...
OVER $100,000 HAS BEEN RAISED FOR CASA CALLA! ($100,799.31, to be exact!)
We are blown away by that and humbled by that and praising God for using our little girl to inspire that.
As you know, all profits from Calla’s Slime Shop are given to Forget Me Not Ministries and FMN is currently researching and planning the Casa Calla project. Though the pandemic has caused many delays and restrictions to government offices, building materials, proper resources, and access to essential companies and contractors, the FMN team has continued to faithfully recalibrate in order to keep moving forward with their vision for Casa Calla.
The project will house the teen girl’s program, a teen boy’s program, a preteen program, a refuge center, counseling services, premarital counseling, education and tutoring, pregnancy classes and support, employment training, and spiritual outreach to the at-risk Roma youth of Tinca.
We are forever grateful for the outpouring of support and generosity that so many have showed and we invite you to keep praying alongside us for the very important ministry work of FMN and their plans for Casa Calla. Know that our good God is moving through each of you to truly “LOOK OUT FOR THE LEFT OUT,” just as our sweet Calla girl set out to do.
As we celebrate this beautiful funding milestone, we are also looking ahead to what God will continue to do! So, as we continue to follow Calla’s lead, all proceeds from her store will continue to help fund the Casa Calla facility, staff positions, and ministry program expenses. We’re excited to announce that we have restocked our swag as best we can, added weatherproof decals for everyone’s back windshield & Calla’s specialty slimes are on a SUPER SALE for Christmas! All new orders will be shipped out or ready for pick up Wednesday, December 15!
